Most security programs, along with Avast, include features like Self-Defense to prevent malicious applications from. Although removing third-party antivirus programs isn’t all that simple. Can someone tell me first, why the pop-up problem occurred and now why Avast is still on my system after uninstall and now with no way of uninstalling it? I don't like having a program running on my computer that doesn't show up on my installed programs list. The built-in security program in the newer versions of Windows, Windows Defender, has proven to be quite sufficient for most users and has prompted them to uninstall other third-party security programs. Furthermore, it now no longer shows up on either my Revo list of installed programs or in the Windows 10 list of installed programs. Upon rebooting, I discovered that Avast was still on my system and functioning normally. I then re-booted the system to make sure that the uninstall had been completed. I uninstalled it using Revo Uninstaller which is my go-to uninstall program and it confirmed that I had deleted all of the registry keys and files and that the uninstall was complete. I finally decided that the only way I could get the pop-up to disappear was to uninstall Avast and reinstall it. After numerous attempts (and regardless of whatever I tried with Avast), including setting it to silent mode, the pop-up kept reappearing. I could not get the pop-up to go away however. I just had a problem where I got a pop-up message from Avast saying that it had detected a trojan and moved it to the virus chest.
